Here’s the Rockstar moment of Ms. Lata Pandit of DAV Public school.
A Touching Moment
In my 28 years as a teacher, I’ve had my fair share of experiences. Some of them have touched me, some embarrassing and some I would like to treasure in my heart forever. But the one which has opened my eyes as to how students perceive we teachers happened just recently.
After 23 years of working at DAV Public School, Dwarka, Delhi, I retired this year in May. The farewell I received from my students was memorablel. The beautiful handmade cards, bouquets, garlands, chocolates and gifts, I was amazed to see the ways in which the children expressed their love and regard for me.
I was one of those strict teachers and always thought that the students would be glad to get rid of me. How wrong I was! Many of them especially the girls came up to me and hugged me. They had tears in their eyes.. Along with a card, a girl of class IX gave me a letter written by her. It was on a simple page of a copy but its contents were most heart warming and inspiring. I am attaching the letter with the story. Only reading it will enable you to understand what I felt when I read it.
